Important info for Belgian travelers to the US

Citizens of Belgium who wish to travel to the United States under the Visa Waiver Program must present a machine-readable passport issued by the Belgian Government. Some Belgians citizens are in possession of valid passports that were issued prior to the introduction of the machine-readable passport. Belgian citizens may continue to use valid non-machine-readable passports but will be required to apply for a Non-Immigrant Visa at a US Embassy to travel for business or tourist reasons to the United States.

    Commercial info

Trade between Thailand and Belgium now totals some 2 billion € per year. The economic and commercial relations between both countries are very dynamic (showing very impressive double-digit growth rates) and, in terms of quality, they are excellent, as they are backed up by solid investments, quite often in economic sectors upstream (such as utilities and most of the industrial sectors). Many of the larger Belgian companies have invested in Thailand, and quite often, their investment here serves as a headquarters for the region.

Commercial files are handled by the Trade Commissioners at the Embassy. Please go to the 'Who is Who' section to find our their names and contact details.

The Embassy and the Trade Commissioners cover a wider region, as the jurisdiction of the Embassy also includes Thailand, Burma/Myanmar, Bangladesh, Cambodia and Laos.

Honorary Consuls may also be useful contacts (please see the 'Who is Who' section again for the contact details of the Honorary Consuls in Bangladesh and Cambodia, or the 'Services Local Info' section for the Honorary Consuls in Thailand).

    Learning Dutch or French

    Dutch

Are you a parent/guardian moving to Thailand and interested in Dutch language lessons for your Dutch-speaking children? Here are some possibilities:

In Bangkok, the Dutch Cultural Society (DCS), which operates under the supervision of the Government of the Netherlands and is accredited by the Stichting Nederlands Onderwijs in het Buitenland (NOB), organizes Dutch language lessons for children from four years of age through and including the International Baccalaureate (IB). The level of the lessons is the same as that given for children of the same age in the Netherlands.  The DCS offers Dutch lessons at Bangkok Patana School and at International School Bangkok. Additional information regarding the DCS programmes at those schools can be found at the links mentioned below:
