    Family reunification Visa

    Long Term Visa. Family Reunification with Belgian citizen (Art. 40) and with foreign citizen (neither Belgian nor European (Art. 10)

    I. Family reunification of spouse / minor child with a Belgian, Art 40ter

    (information concerning family reunification with a foreign citizen who is neither Belgian nor European (Art 10) is to be found here after in point II)  

    Required documents to be submitted under the following form:

    A - All necessary Pakistani/Afghan documents (6, 7, 8 and 9) must be original, legalized by the competent Pakistani/Afghan Authorities and must also have been already previously legalized by the Embassy of Belgium in Islamabad.

    Information regarding previous legalization by the Belgian Embassy in Islamabad is available here . Information about translations into French is available here. Translation into French concerns only Pakistani documents. Diplomas written entirely into English do not need to be translated. Translation advice : make sure, before getting your translated documents attested by the Ministry of foreign Affairs, that there are no translation errors in them. Any translation error might lead to the rejection of your file by the concerned authorities.

    B-All documents that constitute the file must be copied twice. In this way, the original file must be presented with two accompanying files made of copies of each document.  Photocopies should be made on normal paper (A4 size).

    C-All documents part of a visa application must be presented at once, all together. It is therefore requested to send the visa application only once the file is complete and once the necessary documents have been translated into French by Alliance Française for the Pakistani documents and into English by the Afghan Authorities for the Afghan documents and legalized by the Embassy of Belgium in Islamabad.  If some documents are missing or were not properly legalized or translated, the file will be sent as it is to Brussels with a strong possibility that the application may be refused

    D-All needed information about the building of an application is provided below and is available in English in our website.

    E- The right to family reunification of spouse with a Belgian in the context of art. 40ter is only possible if both spouses are above 21 years old.

    F- Please do provide in your application dorm a direct updated phone number in Pakistan /Afghnistan as well as a coorect email address of the applicant if available.

    Documents to be submitted by the visa applicant

    1 - Two standard visa forms, per applicant, dated and signed.

     

    2 - Two recent passport photos in colour.

     

    3- A photocopy of the complete passport.

     

    4- The validity of the passport must be at least a year after the visa expires.

    5- A photocopy of the national identity card.

     

    6- Original birth certificate, legalized by the Embassy of Belgium in Islamabad along with French translation (from Alliance Française) (for the Pakistani documents) also legalized by the Embassy. For translation of Afghan documents, see explanation here above (A).

    7- Original  marriage paper / Nikah Nama, legalized by the Embassy of Belgium in Islamabad along with French translation (from Alliance Française)  also legalized by the Embassy. For translation of Afghan documents, see explanation here above (A).

      

    + For Pakistani documents : Marriage registration certificate (issued by NADRA), legalized by the Embassy along with French translation (from Alliance Française)  also legalized by the Embassy.

     

    + For Pakistani documents : Family registration certificate (issued by NADRA), legalized by the Embassy along with French translation (from Alliance Française)  also legalized by the Embassy


    8-
    If applicable: Divorce / death: the certificate legalized by the Embassy along with French translation  (from Alliance Française)  also legalized by the Embassy. For translation of Afghan documents, see explanation here above (A).

    9 - If necessary (rare): Permission for the marriage of minor /an underage person: the certificate legalized by the Embassy along with French translation (from Alliance Française)  also legalized by the Embassy. For translation of Afghan documents, see explanation here above (A).

    10 - If necessary (rare): a copy of the power of attorney to marriage / divorce, along with French translation (from Alliance Française) also legalized by the Embassy. For translation of Afghan documents, see explanation here above (A).

    11. For recently married spouses, photo album of marriage ceremony



    Documents to be provided by the Belgian national. However those documents must be submitted by the apllicant at the same time together with the previous documents:

     

    12 - A photocopy of identity card.

     

    13 - proof that the Belgian national has decent housing : registered lease agreement or copy of property title.

    14 - proof that the Belgian national has a health insurance covering risks in Belgium for himself and for member of his family.

     

    15 - proof that the Belgian national has sufficient, regular and  sustainable livelihoods / mean of support  (minimum 3 recent pay slips, last “extrait de rôle”)

     

    IMPORTANT MESSAGE :

    1. An individual passport must be provided for every applicant.
    2. All fees (legalisation, etc.) have to be paid to GERRY'S INTERNATIONAL. In case of rejection of the visa, fees are NON-REFUNDABLE.
    3. Visa application files have to be introduced through GERRY'S INTERNATIONAL Visa drop Box facilities.
    4. ALL FEES (HANDLING FEES OR CONSULAR FEES) ARE TO BE PAID TO GERRY'S INTERNATIONAL. NOBODY (STAFF / LAWYERS / PRIVATE CONSULTANTS OR TRAVEL AGENCIES) IS ENTITLED TO CHARGE ANY AMOUNT OF MONEY DIRECTLY TO THE CLIENT OUTSIDE OF THE GERRY'S INTERNATIONAL OFFICES OR OUTSIDE OF THE EMBASSY.

     

    II. Family reunification of spouse / minor child with a foreign citizen who is neither Belgian nor European citizen, Art 10

    (information concerning family reunification with a Belgian (Art 40) is to be found here above in point I)  

    Required documents to be submitted under the following form:

    A - All necessary Pakistani/Afghan documents (6, 7, 8 and 9) must be original, legalized by the competent Pakistani/Afghan Authorities and must also have been already previously legalized by the Embassy of Belgium in Islamabad.

Information about translations into French by “Alliances Françaises in Pakistan/ French Cultural Center in Pakistan” is also available in our same website. Translation by Alliance Française or by French Translation Agency Pakistan concerns only Pakistani documents. Original documents from Afghanistan are translated into English by the Afghan local Authorities. Only a translation from those Authorities will be accepted.

    11. For recently married spouses, photo album of marriage ceremony.

     

    12. Medical certificate, from the accredited doctor of the Embassy, attesting that applicant is not suffering from any disease putting in danger the public health. The medical certificate will be directly sent by the doctor to the Embassy and will not be given by the doctor to the applicant. The applicant will receive from the doctor a letter stating that he presented himself to the doctor. The applicant will send this letter with his file as a proof that he has requested a medical certificate.

     

    13. Police character certificate (for applicants older than 18 years). If the certificate is written into English, no translation needed. The certificate must be legalized by the Embassy of Belgium in Islamabad.

     

    Documents to be provided by the foreign citizen residing in Belgium. However, those documents must be submitted by the applicant at the same time together with the previous documents:

     

    14 - A photocopy of identity card and of passport.

     

    15 - proof that the foreign resident in Belgium has decent housing : registered lease agreement or copy of property title.

     

    16 - proof that the foreign resident  has a health insurance covering risks in Belgium for himself and for member of his family.

     

    17 - proof that foreign resident has sufficient, regular and  sustainable livelihoods / mean of support  (minimum 3 recent pay slips, last “extrait de rôle”)
