Border Crossing Documentation needed: passport or valid travel document; or (for Russian Federation only) national passport and immigration card.
Funds: sufficient for duration of stay in Ukraine, and cost of ticket home. Visas for visits of less than 90 days: Required by all nationalities except EU countries, CIS countries (except Turkmenistan), Andorra, Argentina, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Brazil, Canada, Croatia, Hong Kong, Iceland, Israel, Japan, Liechtenstein, Monaco, Mongolia, Montenegro, Norway, Paraguay, San Marino, Serbia, South Korea, Switzerland, Turkey, USA, Vatican. Prohibited items in Ukraine: Explosives, poisonous and potent substances that harm humans, radioactive materials, narcotic substances, psychotropic substances, goods without necessary permits, literary works and works of art, printed materials, clips, photo, audio and video materials that popularize war, cruelty, pornography, racial, ethnic or religious hostility, or that appeal to the forced overthrow of the constitutional system in Ukraine. Border-crossing tips: Provided you are within customs allowances, follow EURO 2012 ‘green lanes’ at main airports and at one of the jointly operated border crossing points (at Jagodzin-Dorohusk, Krakovets- Korczowa, Szeginie-Medyka or Rawa Ruska-Hrebenne) when transferring to Poland (control here is made on Polish territory).
Driving Documentation required: Driver’s license, motor insurance certificate (green card) and vehicle registration documentation.
Speed limits: 20km/h in residential or pedestrian areas; 60km/h in built-up areas; 90km/h outside built-up areas; 130km/h on highways.
Use of hand-held mobile phones and consumption of alcohol is strictly prohibited.
Customs What you are allowed to carry in your luggage when entering Ukraine: Goods exempt from customs duty and tax: Goods whose total value does not exceed EUR 1,000 (airports) or EUR 500 (land and sea border); and whose total weight does not exceed 50kg. Personal belongings intended for personal use such as phones, cameras, clothing, and computers. CASH: a maximum of EUR 10,000 without declaring it to the customs service. TOBACCO ALLOWANCES (for those over 18 years old): 200 cigarettes; or 50 cigars or 50 grams of snuff. ALCOHOL ALLOWANCES (for those over 18 years old): 1 litre of spirits (vodka, brandy, whisky, etc.) Plus 2 litres of wine Plus 5 litres of beer. Food limit: for personal consumption and not exceeding EUR 200 per person, in not more than one package, and not exceeding 2kg per person. Pets: 3 mammals, 6 birds and 20 fish presented with appropriate veterinary documentation. Medicine: for personal use and not exceeding the quantity necessary for the course of treatment, and presented with a medical certificate/prescription.
Prohibited items in stadia: Alcohol, narcotic or toxic substances, other stimulants, drinks in any pack, weapons and items which may be used as weapons, piercing and cutting objects, metallic items, large umbrellas, helmets, bottles, cups, items made of glass, cans and other similar material items, as well as Tetra Pack packages, smoke cartridges, fire devices and other pyrotechnics, colouring compounds and paints, fire-hazardous, highly flammable, explosive, poisonous and caustic substances, radioactive materials, gas neuro-paralytic and tear-gas sprays, laser devices. Those showing signs of alcohol impairment may be denied entry. A complete ban on the use, sale or promotion of tobacco will be in force in both indoor and outdoor areas of all stadia.
Rules on drinking : Consumption of alcoholic beverages is not permitted in public places such as streets, parks, stadia, stations, airports, public transport, etc. Consumption of alcohol in prohibited places can result in a warning, fine of between UAH 17-119 or administrative arrest for a term of up to 15 days. Smoking tobacco in prohibited places is subject to a fine of between UAH 51-204.
