    Registration of marriage

The procedure to register the marriage of a Belgian in Singapore at the Embassy is as follows:

    1. Apply for a duplicate copy of your marriage certificate (non-laminated) at the Registry of Marriages:

    Registry of Marriages (ROM)
    7 Canning Rise

    Singapore 179869

    Tel: 6338 7808

    Website

    2. Get it legalized at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs:

Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Consular Service Counter)

    Tanglin, Singapore 248163

    Tel: 6379 8000

    Website

    3. Have it translated by one of the translators recognized by the Embassy (listed here).

    4. Bring to the Embassy for legalization. Both the duplicate marriage certificate + translation require legalization in order to be registered (click here for list of Consular Fees). We will then register your marriage in the Belgian Population Register. The legalized documents will be returned to you. We strongly advise you to transcribe them in Belgium also. Click here for more information in this respect.
