    Flemish Minister-President Kris Peeters visit to Singapore 19-20 May 2011

    His Excellency Kris Peeters visited Singapore on 19 and 20 May 2011. During his visit, the Minister-President took part to a breakfast meeting with the Belgian business community, met with the direction of PSA and Singapore Airlines and with the Permanent Secretary for Transport. K. Peeters also delivered a speech at the closing ceremony of the first "Atelier for Young Festival Managers" organized in Asia, at the Lasalle College of the Arts. Before departing back to Belgium, the head of the governement of the Flemish Region participated to a reception held in his honor at the residence of the Belgian Ambassador.

    HE Jean-Claude Marcourt visits Singapore 27-28 February 2011

    HE Jean-Claude Marcourt Minister of Foreign Trade of the Walloon Region, was in Singapore on 27 and 28 February for the promotion of trade and investments between Singapore and Wallonia.

    King’s Day reception 2010

    The Ambassador of Belgium to Singapore, HE R. Van Remoortele hosted a reception at the Hilton Hotel on the 15th of November to celebrate King’s Day. The event, where the government of Singapore was represented by  Senior Minister of State S. Iswaran (Ministry of Trade and Industry and Ministry of Education) and Members of Parliament Ellen Lee Geck Hoon and Hri Kumar Nair, was the occasion to look back on another year of intense exchanges between Belgium and Singapore and to call for a continued strengthening of the relationship in the future.

     

     

     

     

     

     

     

     

     

     

     

     


     

     

    Europe and Asia - dynamic regions, mutual visions


    This panel discussion and briefing organised by the EU Delegation in Singapore, ASEF, the EU Centre, and the Belgian Embassy was held at the Orchard Hotel last 29 September 2010 ahead of the ASEM 8 Summit in Brussels. The panelists included ASEF Executive Director Dominique Girard, Channel News Asia International Desk Editor Mr Augustine Anthuvan, and Singapore Institute of International Affairs Chairman Simon Tay. After an introduction by EU Head of Delegation Hölger Standertsjkoeld , EU Centre Director Dr Yeo Lay Hwee moderated the debate. Belgian Ambassador Roland Van Remoortele concluded.

    Asia-Europe Business Forum reception held at ASEF


    On the occasion of the 8th Asia-Europe Meeting Summit held in Brussels and the 12th Asia-Europe Business Forum, the Belgian Embassy in Singapore hosted a reception at the Asia-Europe Foundation. The reception brought together members from various Chambers of Commerce of ASEM countries, and launched a Belgian photography exhibition. The photo exhibit entitled "Another Way to See it" and bringing together Belgian Art photographs from the three regions of Belgium, will be at ASEF premises from 23 September - 8 October 2010.
