Welcome to the Belgian Embassy in Israel.

I have been appointed as Ambassador by the King of the Belgians on July 18, 2008 and I presented my letters of credence to President Shimon Peres on September 17, 2008.

I look forward to making Belgium better known in Israël, to continue to develop the bilateral relationships between Belgium and Israel, and together with my colleagues of the European Union, to assist our governments to promote peace in the region.

The tasks of the Embassy are manifold. We assist Israeli and Belgian citizens in consular matters. We follow closely and report regularly on political issues. We promote trade and cultural events.

Fortunately, I can count on a competent and dedicated staff, from many backgrounds and with different experiences. This has already proven a great asset, certainly for me, and I hope for those of you who will be in contact with the Embassy.
